StoryCubes for Swiss Prime Site.
Swiss Prime Site operates and develops some of Switzerland's most significant commercial properties. These include JED Schlieren – the largest 22·26 building in the country. It is based on the 22·26 principle developed by the internationally active architectural firm Baumschlager Eberle – one of Europe's most influential proponents of minimalist, material-conscious and energy-efficient architecture.
The 22·26 principle does not require conventional heating and cooling systems, instead utilising thermal mass, natural ventilation and minimal technical construction. It is precisely this mode of operation that makes the JED architecturally unique – and forms the core of what StoryCubes visualise as a digital exhibition object.
The task:
Communicating complex ideas simply in space.
Discreet in everyday life, prominent in guided tours: Swiss Prime Site wanted to convey the 22·26 principle and the special features of the JED in an understandable way – without getting lost in technical details. The result is a single digital exhibit that combines architecture, data and spatial staging. At the same time, it underlines the brand's attitude: precise, sustainable, high-quality.
The solution: StoryCubes.
StoryCubes consist of LED multiscreens arranged in a cuboid shape. Placed on a base platform, they have a total height of 2.90 m. The metal cladding blends seamlessly into the architecture, matching the colour of the stair railings. Sensors at eye level, sound from the underside and adaptive brightness control ensure that the exhibit is both functional and spatially harmonious. The visualisations in the 22·26 look developed by Schindler Parent create a direct connection to the brand.
The result: intuitive information transfer.
With the help of StoryCubes, technical contexts, architectural decisions and functional principles can be conveyed intuitively and playfully. In terms of content, the object draws on building technology and visualises temperature, CO₂ values and humidity in real time. It also shows public transport connections and displays building facts such as floor space and tenants. All content is managed via a dedicated CMS.

Intelligent modes.
A StoryCube has three operating modes: In Sleep Mode, it remains discreet and displays a subdued, pulsating representation of the building data. In Awake Mode, it reacts to proximity, increases its luminosity and clearly highlights information. Action Mode is intended for guided tours and offers a complete content sequence: film sequences, 3D models, architectural details and a continuous narrative on how the 22·26 principle works. It is controlled contactlessly via gestures.
Why it works in JED.
JED stands for clarity, reduction and technical honesty. The digital exhibition object ties in perfectly with this: it visualises building physics, brings the functionality to life and complements the space in terms of content – without overpowering it. It creates a place where Swiss Prime Site can clearly communicate its stance – directly and without explanatory classification.

StoryCubes are not limited to the JED. Thanks to their modular hardware and flexible CMS, they can be used in showrooms, company lobbies, museums, exhibition stands and innovation areas. The principle remains the same: a physical object in a room that conveys information precisely and intuitively. The four-dimensional arrangement makes the system particularly suitable for displaying complex 3D models. With the help of gesture control, users can freely rotate and zoom the model and explore it from different angles. This creates immersive experiences that go far beyond traditional information transfer.
We not only provide you with the concept, technical implementation and visual design of StoryCubes from a single source, but also all other aspects of live communication – from exhibition stands and roadshows to internal events.
Perhaps StoryCubes are the right choice. In a non-binding initial consultation, we will find ways to communicate your brand in the space.
